Favourite tropes and themes?

Post by BigDaddy69 »

As the title asks you, what are your favourite tropes and themes to write about? What makes these so fun to you? How often do you put them into your stories? I'll give it a go as well.

I enjoy time travel, not necessarily fix-it either. Not entirely sure why I enjoy it so much, I think because of the opportunities for change and then the butterfly effect and things going wrong. Delicious.

Similar to this, I also really enjoy time loops. I have a story in the works with a time loop, heavily based on Mother of Learning so I likely won't share it, but regardless, it's so much fun to write.
Ask me nicely. 8-)

Favourite tropes and themes?

I’m drawn to stories that focus on flawed, domineering women, especially those that are morally complex and ostracized by society. I also have a strong fascination with time paradoxes, particularly when they’re intricately woven into the plot and challenge the nature of cause and effect.

Beyond that, I love stories with sociopolitical commentary—narratives that explore ideological conflicts. I’m also really into war tactics and history, so anything that delves into strategic warfare, military conflicts, or the evolution of battle tactics is right up my alley. That's the main reason I'm into Warhammer.
