Idle/Incremental Games
Does anyone play these? Just me? Okay.
I've been playing Check Back (Modded), which is exactly what the name says. You click a button for experience and wait anywhere between 1 minute to several days for the button to become available again. It's... surprisingly addicting and I do it while I write in my notebook or do other things.
I've tried out others, but I'm not at home right now, so I don't have access to my computer, where I have played Idle Loops. I want to start that one over again, even though I never finished it.
I know these are not everyone's cup of tea because they are literally idle rather than active play, but if anyone's into these, please let me know which ones you like!

The appeal for me is NUMBA GO UP, usually to ridiculous amounts, and being able to step away from it and do other things while the game runs. Some of them are more active than others, especially when you look at incremental games, because an incremental doesn't have to be idle per se. Not that I can think of an example right now of an incremental that isn't an idleMonsterio wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2025 6:42 pm i never understood the appeal of idle games

It's basically, you're getting the dopamine from improving your character without needing to actively game, which you might not have the time for. Idle games you can check in every so often.

I absolutely do! Except every time I game nowadays I get this nasty feeling like I could be doing something else instead, such as writing, which makes gaming very much Not Fun anymore, which is why I turn to idle games.
