I hope to get to know y'all as we grow the forum together

The web revival is a movement that rejects the modern internet ecosystem and seeks to revive and renew the style of web browsing from the 2000's. One main element of this is creating personal websites, which is what you can do on Neocities. It's a vast movement containing multiple subcultures, because there are various different reasons for wanting to return to how the internet used to be. I can't explain it fully, so I suggest you check this wiki entry: https://wiki.melonland.net/web_revivalBigDaddy69 wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 12:50 am Welcome!I'm dumb, but what is web revival about? It sounds cool, but I have no idea what it actually means.

I think the fun thing about Pokémon is how you can jump in at any generation and be completely swept up by it. Inevitably you will learn the history of the franchise and know just as much as any veteran fan. When did you become a fan?HopeForTheWitch wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 12:56 am Hi, welcome! Another Pokemon fan? But I'm a baby fan, in the sense that I don't actually know a lot about itI always get intimidated meeting real fans who actually know their shit.
During the hype in the 90s haha. I skipped 3rd and 4th gen, bought a 3DSXL and got myself Black 2. Then really got into it during XY and then ORAS. Bought a Switch for Sword, which I absolutely did not like, but I played Violet all day every day for two months or so. I just hate battles and I know very little about type advantages and moves and stats. I'm there for the breeding and collecting aspect, back in XY at least when "bank balls" were still niche and only the females bred down the ball. Yes I'm a bit salty that my collection value imploded due to the new mechanicsBlazingCobaltX wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 7:44 pmI think the fun thing about Pokémon is how you can jump in at any generation and be completely swept up by it. I'm obsessed with web revival - it really was the right time to be online. These days the internet really feels foreign, and even overwhelmingly commercial.BlazingCobaltX wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 7:44 pmThe web revival is a movement that rejects the modern internet ecosystem and seeks to revive and renew the style of web browsing from the 2000's.
